  • The PMA would like to publicly recognize programs that are successful in achieving an ITTAP accreditation. If your program is accredited and you wish to be recognized, please provide your social media handles/channels below.

    Please note that this is optional. Providing your social media channels has no effect whatsoever on the outcome of your application or the possible accreditation of your program. 'Publicly recognizing' programs means featuring them in PMA social media posts, PMA newsletters, and relevant blogs. The PMA may not be able to highlight all successfully accredited programs, and providing your social. Media information is not a guarantee of being featured in PMA marketing.

  • The following pages of this form will ask you to upload documents according to each of the standards as outlined on https://www.pilatesmethodalliance.org/ittap - please be prepared to upload all documents in order to fully complete your application.

    Please title your documents using this format: [STANDARD # - Document Name]
    e.g. Standard 1 - Curriculum Overview or Standard 4 - Student Teaching Hours

    The last stage will then be to submit payment. 

  • ✅ Standard 1: Curriculum

  • Classroom/Lecture Hours based on Program Type:

    • Mat: 34 Hours
    • Reformer: 85 Hours
    • Comprehensive: 125 Hours

    Your program must include hours of instruction across the following topics: 

    • History of Pilates, Anatomy, Special Populations, Teaching & Cueing, Apparatus specifics (e.g. Reformer only, Mat only, or comprehensive programs including Wunda Chair, Barrels, Cadillac/Tower, Magic Circle), Business Practices and Networking. 

    Narrative Must Include: 

    • Rationale for the content and sequencing of curriculum 
    • How courses/modules and total hours were determined 
    • Detailed description of how each required module is addressed 
    • If hours are not used to measure certain segments, describe how competency is assessed 
    • Pathway for students who do not pass
    • Statement of live or live/virtual delivery

    • Teacher Trainer Instructional Guide
    • Curriculum overview

    • Signed statement from the Program Manager confirming that all instructors are educated on appropriate touch practices

  • Students must observe a Qualified Teacher Trainer (QTT) teaching live or live/virtually without participating.

    Hours based on Program Type:

    • Mat: 20 Hours
    • Reformer: 60 Hours
    • Comprehensive: 110 Hours

  • Students must complete hours of self-directed Pilates practice, performed alone or with other trainees (not clients or instructors), in a program-approved setting.

    Hours based on Program Type:

    • Mat: 16 Hours
    • Reformer: 60 Hours
    • Comprehensive: 75 Hours

  • Students must teach a minimum of 2 clients (for comprehensive, using all required apparatus). QTT acts as an observer only.

    • Comprehensive: 50 Hours

  • Students must teach while receiving live, in-the-moment guidance from a QTT.

  • Students must receive direct instruction from a QTT (for comprehensive, using all apparatus), either in private or small group sessions.

    Hours based on Program Type:

    • Comprehensive: 50 Hours

  • ✅ Standard 7: QTT Observation of Student Teaching

  • Each student must be observed teaching (for comprehensive, across all apparatus). At least 1 hour must be a full class. The QTT should not interact unless safety is at risk.

    Hours based on Program Type:

    • Reformer: 5 Hours
    • Comprehensive: 15 Hours

  • Your program must administer a written exam that evaluates knowledge of anatomy, cueing, apparatus use (if applicable), and core principles.

  • Your program must conduct a hands-on practical exam assessing competency across all apparatus (if applicable).

    • Overview of exam format (e.g., teaching a full class, demonstrating on equipment(if applicable)) 
    • Administration and grading guidelines 
    • Practical exam references from syllabi/course outlines showing how consistency, frequency, and evaluation weight are applied

  • ITTAP Payment & Refund Policy

    The amounts below reflect the full cost of your ITTAP program fee including a non-refundable $100 initial application fee. If your program is approved, no further payment will be required. If your application is denied, you will receive a refund minus the $100 non-refundable application fee. By submitting payment, you acknowledge and accept these terms. Please also note that any cancellation of your ITTAP process or any payments made towards your ITTAP application are entirely separate from your membership with the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) and will not affect your membership standing.
